Strategic Priorities & Campaign Pillars

Community and Worship

At the heart of the Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral is a commitment to fostering a vibrant community rooted in deep spiritual traditions. This pillar focuses on providing bilingual services and religious education to accommodate and celebrate the cultural diversity of our community. It ensures that the Cathedral serves as a spiritual home where all can participate in worship, celebrate the liturgical calendar, and engage in life's significant milestones from baptisms to weddings and memorial services.

Cultural Heritage and Education

Recognizing the intrinsic link between Russian Orthodoxy and cultural identity, this pillar aims to preserve and promote our rich heritage through the establishment of an Orthodox Cultural Center. This center will offer a range of educational programs, including catechism classes, pastoral lectures, and cultural events like Maslenitsa and Yolka celebrations. These initiatives will not only educate but also deepen the community's appreciation and understanding of their Orthodox faith and Russian cultural roots.

Physical Infrastructure: Cathedral, Parish Community Center & Catering Hall

The construction and ongoing enhancement of physical infrastructure constitute this fundamental pillar. It encompasses the acquisition and modification of the property that will house the Cathedral and its ancillary facilities, including a parish hall for large gatherings with a stage and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The Center will be an ideal venue for children’s performances, concerts, receptions, festivals and events. Two classrooms, a children’s play area, nursing moms’ quiet room, and the PaTRAM music library and singing room complete the space. The park across the street is a welcoming outdoor area. Each element is designed to support the community's spiritual and communal activities, ensuring that the facilities meet the needs of a growing congregation and the various programs it hosts.

Legacy and Outreach

This pillar focuses on building a lasting legacy that extends beyond the immediate community to touch the lives of people regionally and globally. It involves not only constructing a building but creating a community hub that serves as a beacon of Orthodox Christianity in North America. The outreach programs will aim to attract new members, including the scattered descendants of immigrants and those new to the faith, reinforcing the Cathedral’s role as a spiritual oasis in a bustling world.

Musical Excellence and Spiritual Depth

This pillar celebrates the integration of the PaTRAM Institute into the life of the Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral, enhancing the musical and spiritual experience of our community. The PaTRAM Institute, renowned for its dedication to the preservation and revitalization of traditional Russian Orthodox choral music, will play a central role in the cathedral’s liturgical services. By providing professional training and performances, the institute will elevate the quality of worship and attract a broader audience to the beauty of Orthodox music. This collaboration aims not only to cultivate a superior choir that enriches every service but also to make the Cathedral a landmark for cultural and spiritual excellence in Orthodox music across North America.
